Book Description: The Garden of the Soul: lessons from four flowers that unearth the Self is a book about becoming whole...

Described as being 'as spiritual as Deepak Chopra and as magical as Paulo Coelho,'The Garden of the Soul takes the reader on a daring and magical journey through the author's life and imagination. From stage fright and burnout in a classical music conservatory, to life inside an Indian temple, to a 20-year hidden life of domestic violence, to finding inner peace atop an old English footbridge, the book explores birth, death, love, art, spirituality and transformation in an eloquent, poetic and ultimately unforgettable way. It is an open invitation to readers to explore how they are already the heroes of their own lives.

The primary message of the book is that our fundamental need in life is to find and express our authentic voice so we can step fully into the person we were born to be. Conversely, it also demonstrates the deep emotional, and even physical, damage that can occur in our lives when we repress our true Self due to fear of judgement by the rest of the world.

The lessons in the book are not 'taught', but rather 'unfolded' by the vehicle of Four Flowers-- the Rose, the Iris, the Daffodil and the Lily-- who serve as both the metaphors and the mentors of four Universal Principles: Give, Receive, Become and Be:

1. The Principle of Giving (Lessons from the Rose) is the principle of all that comes from within us, and goes out into the world. In this part of the book, the author explores our basic human need for self-expression, passion, purpose and voice.
2. The Principle of Receiving (Lessons from the Iris) is the principle of all that comes from the world and flows into us. Here, the author explores the pathways to connectedness, and to seeing the gifts within every moment, even the most painful.
3. The Principle of Becoming (Lessons from the Daffodil) is the principle of change, rebirth and transformation. Here, the author explores the importance of letting go of old stories and beliefs so we can grow, evolve and feel ever-fresh and alive. In this part of the book, the author dives most deeply into the shadowy side of life, to come face-to-face with what is standing in the way of our own joy.
4. The Principle of Being (Lesson from the Lily) is the principle of changelessness and continuity. In this part of the book, the author explores personal identity that transcends time and circumstance, embracing that which is intrinsic, eternal and immutable about who we are at our core.

The Four Principles are explored via a blend of dialogues with the Four Flowers and autobiographical stories written in a uniquely innovative, yet highly accessible, literary style.

The Garden of the Soul is a self-published work, but due to Lynn's determination and online marketing savvy, within the first few days of its release, the book attained Amazon bestseller status in both the UK and US in the New Age, Mind-Body-Spirit, Spirituality and Self-Help categories.
