I did not get my confirmation email and can't vote. What do I do?
In order to make this a fair voting process and prevent fake email registrations, we require you to confirm your email address. Once you register, we send you an email with a link in it to confirm your address. Click that link and your account will be activated and you'll be able to vote. Sometimes voters do not get these confirmation emails, usually because of spam filters or folders. If this is true for you, please Click Here and request a re-send of this email. Make sure first that you can receive emails and it will not go into any spam filters.
Who created this competition?
This competition was created by James Twyman (www.JamesTwyman.com) and Robert Evans, creator of the Messenger Mini-Book Program (www.MessengerMiniBooks.com). We were inspired by the Britain's Next Top Coach competition created by Terry Malloy and Ian Banyard and won by our friend Christian Pankhurst.
Who else is involved?
The most significant contributor to this competition is Hampton Roads Publishing, who have agreed to offer a book contract to the winner of this competition. Randy Davilla, CEO of HR Pub will be an intregal part of the competition, providing insight and guidance on finding the Next Top Spiritual Author. Our expert panel will also be very involved in guiding the authors and helping to find the finalists of the competition.
What is meant by a "Spiritual" author?
This competition is focused on finding authors who have a message that appeals to the spiritual market. This market, often referred to the "new thought market" offers personal growth and spiritual messages (religious messages are not considered "new thought"). Authors like James Twyman, Neale Donald Walsch, Wayne Dyer, James Redfield, Abraham Hicks, etc - have messages that appeal to this market.
Why do I need to register to vote?
Our voting system tracks votes by registered voters of legal age with confirmed email addresses. This supports a fair competition of votes per confirmed email addresses. Registration also allows you an easy voting process by simply clicking a vote button after you have registered and logged in.
Can I vote for an author more than one time?
You can only vote for an author one time for each round. The first round will go until May 3rd 2010 and you will be notified when Round 2 starts so you can support your favorite author again by casting a new vote for those still in the competition.
How does voting the voting process work?
In this first round the authors rally the support of those they know and learn the art of promoting their message and book. This provides the author with a real life experience of publishing and promoting a book. The votes they get from their efforts, random votes from people who visit this site, and peer vote from another author will generate a final score at the end of this first round. The top 250 authors will advance to the next round where they write and submit a book proposal to a panel of judges that will make up the majority vote for 25 authors to advance to Round 3. In Round 3 an expert panel of authors, publishing experts, the publisher Hampton Roads Publishing will review final Round 3 submissions and then choose the final 5 authors where among them will be a winner of the grand prize.
How long is this competition and can I vote again later in the competition?
This first round will end on May 3rd and the entire competition will run a total of about 8-months from our start date of March 29th.
Can I vote for more than one author?
Yes you can vote for more than one author / book but with only one vote per author.
Will voters be contacted after they registered?
Email addresses will NEVER be sold, traded or given away by anyone involved in this competition. Voters will be contacted by the adminstrators of this site about updates on the competition and the start dates of each new round. They will also be occasionaly notified about special opportunities and programs offered by the creators of the Next Top Spiritual Author program (James Twyman and Robert Evans), Hampton Roads Publishing, and two of our authors / experts; such as Neale Donald Walsch and Marianne Williamson . Each will provide simple opt-out methods from their list without impacting the account the voter has in this competition.
